YOUR PEOPLE ARE STILL
YOUR GREATEST ASSET.

You’ve got a lot on your mind right now. But amid your concerns about health, money, and civil unrest, at the center of it all, are your faculty and staff. Your employees are what make your institution a special place for your students. They are responsible for creating, and sustaining, your culture. Engaging your faculty and staff has never been more important than it is now, and the Great Colleges to Work For program is an opportunity to engage with your employees, on campus or working remotely, at no cost.

Great colleges are great in good times and in bad. Your faculty and staff are working hard every day to make your institution a special place for your students, and it shows. Overcoming the challenges of teaching remotely, volunteering in your local communities, and going the extra mile to safeguard each other’s health and well-being – don’t your employees deserve to be honored for their hard work? Participation in the program earns you the chance to be named a Great College to Work For at a time when we could all use something to celebrate.

You already know that taking care of your faculty and staff, especially in a crisis, is paramount…but your human resources budget just went from stretched to non-existent. It’s easy to get your senior leadership excited about the Great Colleges to Work For program, not just because it uses a nationally-normed survey instrument and includes in depth external benchmarking AND the possibility of glowing recognition for your institution, but also because the program is FREE. It feels great to get so much more than what you pay for.

This is a time when employee engagement could easily fall by the wayside. Plenty of organizations will make the understandable mistake of focusing solely on financial obstacles while allowing the employees who are loyally working harder than ever to keep things going go unacknowledged. But employee engagement should still be one of your most important considerations right now.  Your faculty and staff are worried. They are wondering which benefits will get cut first, whether sacrifices will be fairly distributed across campus, and how to adjust to new ways of working. Give your employees a voice by participating in the Great Colleges to Work For program and show them that they’re still important, and that you’re still listening.

The world is changing, and so is higher education. In an effort to deliver the most timely and thorough workplace engagement survey possible, we have redesigned our Higher Education Insight Survey© to help you understand how issues like remote work, physical safety, and change management are being perceived by your faculty and staff, while also addressing pillars of engagement like communication, well-being, diversity, and inclusion.

We even provide external benchmarks as part of your complimentary Participation Reports so you can see how other colleges are measuring up as well. We’ve never faced anything like this before, and the Great Colleges to Work For program will give you the metrics you need to learn how your college is managing so far, and how to navigate what comes next.

The Great Colleges program can also help you fulfill goals in your strategic plan, gather data for accreditation requirements, establish metrics for diversity initiatives, and more. All non-profit higher education institutions with enrollments of at least 500 are eligible to participate.
